The article describes offshore operations as a non-standard project for the transportation and installation of individual objects with their possible float-on/off or float-over on other objects or foundation like offshore jackets, Gravity Base Structures (GBS) etc. The review of completed offshore operations is carried out on the example of individual offshore projects implemented in the economic zone of the Russian Federation over the past two decades. The water areas for offshore operations cover the Arctic seas, the Caspian Sea, the seas of the Far East of the Russian Federation. Various types of operations performed are considered: jacket launching with further topside float-over, long-term multistage sea towing, transportation on specialized barges with further float-on/off or float-over of various offshore structures. The purpose of the study is to assess the volume of the maritime operations market relative to world maritime economic activity. The author’s approach is to allocate from the financial volume of the total maritime economic activity the share attributable to maritime operations. To do this, an analysis was made of the revenues of the leading marine T&I service companies involved in offshore projects for the relevant period. 2021 is chosen as the base period. The financial revenue of the entire maritime economic complex is based on UN data. Revenue data for specialized marine T&I companies was based on open financial statements.
