Annotation

This article studies the effect of passive and active anti-rolling tanks of the 1st kind on the roll of a fishing vessel under various operating conditions. The purpose of the study is to determine the achieved roll reduction ratios, identification of dependences of the efficiency of the operation of tanks on operating conditions, comparison of the obtained results. The calculation method is based on the Lagrange method for systems with two degrees of freedom, a shortened rolling equation in absolute coordinates is considered, displacements are considered small, the influence of the orbital motion of the ship’s center of gravity is neglected, sections of the side compartments of tanks within the limits of liquid level displacements are assumed to be cylindrical and symmetrical with respect to the diametral planes, curvature of the liquid surface inside the tanks are not taken into account, the mass of the liquid in the elementary section of the tank is assumed to be concentrated in the center of gravity of this section [1]. The calculation was made using a program developed in the FORTRAN language, based on a three-dimensional potential theory for a fluid of infinite depth and the method of integral equations. The operation of fishing vessels is associated with the need for a high degree of stabilization on the waves in conditions of low or zero speed during fishing operations, which justifies the use of anti-rolling tanks on them [1].
