COMPUTER SIMULATION OF ELECTRIC FIELDS DURING STATIC ELECTRICITY DISCHARGE ON A SHIP

Annotation

Secondary effects in the event of an electrostatic discharge (ESD) of can affect the operation of electronic equipment (EE). Modeling of such effects helps to choose the right housing for the future EE, select components for sensitivity to external influences and position them correctly. The review of the most common modeling packages is carried out and the results of modeling of emerging electric fields (EF) in ESD in the ELCUT program are presented. The results of modeling an indirect discharge in a communication plate are presented. The stresses are given when changing the shape of the EO body with the same area. The most common places of EE installation on the ship are identified and EE modeling is carried out at different heights from the deck of the vessel. Modeling in the ELCUT program can be used for the primary evaluation of secondary effects. The voltage of the EF with an ESD of 6 kV in the equipment housing can reach 3700 V/m, and in the communication plate up to 2300 V/m. The value of the strength of the EF for different geometric dimensions of the body of the EA with the same area differs by no more than 15 %.
