Annotation

The technical condition of the elements of the shaft pipeline largely determines the reliability and safety of the operation of ships. The most time-consuming operation during the installation of the shaft pipeline is the fitting of the conical surfaces of the propeller and propeller shaft, which must be carried out under the supervision of the Russian Classification Society in compliance with approved technologies at ship repair enterprises. However, every year there are cases of loss of propellers on water transport during the normal operation of ships. In this work, studies were conducted to determine the causes of loss of propellers of the ships “Oksky” and “Volgoneft”. The main reasons for the loss of propellers of the surveyed vessels are violations of the execution of the operations of the technological process of fitting (connecting) the propeller shaft and propeller during the repair period when installing parts of the shaft line. This statement is confirmed by the authors’ research carried out during the conduct of examinations.
Keywords: ship propeller, errors of conical joints, connections, cracks.
