DETERMINING SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONCEPT OF A COMPLETELY LOCALIZED UNIVERSAL MODERN DOMESTIC MEDIUM SPEED DIESEL

Annotation

The object of scientific work is the concept of a fully localized universal modern domestic medium-speed diesel engine. The purpose of the scientific work is to determine the basic characteristics of the concept for the subsequent development of its fuel equipment. The work carried out a search for a prototype engine based on a study of modern serial domestic and foreign proposals, taking into account the experience of their operation, and also examined the features of the modern needs of the domestic fleet for main and auxiliary marine medium-speed diesel engines with the subsequent development of requirements for the characteristics of the concept. Based on an analysis of existing serial engines, it was concluded that it is impossible to modernize any of them. The appearance of the concept and some characteristics for the further design of its fuel equipment are proposed: diesel, medium-speed (750 rpm), four-stroke, trunk. S/D ratio – 32/22, number of cylinders 6 and 8 (6ChN22/32, 8ChN22/32), 1050 kW with 6 cylinders. The required power range of 450–1400 kW is achieved by using a 6 or 8 cylinder version with a stepwise change in the degree of boost/average effective pressure (three levels). It is possible to use the Yanmar 6EY22LW or MAN 6L23/30 as a prototype engine. Keywords: diesel, prime mover, diesel generator, specific effective fuel consumption, rated power
