BACKGROUND: The paper presents the results of developing a control algorithm for the preliminary purification unit
of conversion gas from carbon dioxide.
AIM: To analyze mathematical modeling of the absorber operation and create a software module of the absorber mathematical
model that makes it possible to study the dynamic characteristics of the object.
METHODS: To develop the algorithm, mathematical modeling was used, assuming that the gas parameters obey the Clapeyron–
Mendeleev equation.
RESULTS: A control algorithm for the preliminary purification unit of conversion gas from carbon dioxide has been developed,
which involves the use of discrete level switches and a classical proportional-integral-derivative controller. The calculated
feedback signal is sent to a comparison block for the setpoint and actual level signals, where an error signal is generated.
Subsequently, the proportional-integral-derivative controller produces a control action aimed at lowering or raising the seawater
level in the apparatus. Within the accepted assumptions, it is assumed that water is fed into the preliminary purification unit
by a constant-capacity pump, and this pump is not part of the automatic control system loop. Options for automatic control
of external water supply are not considered in the current study. The control of water drain from the absorber is performed
by the level controller, which ensures stabilization of the process parameter and maintenance of the material balance
in the apparatus.
CONCLUSION: The developed functional diagram of the automatic level controller operation is based on the use of a functional
block that analyzes incoming information on the current state of the level in the absorber. The regulation of physical processes
in the absorber is carried out by a functional block that analyzes the incoming information on the water level in the absorber
during the operation of the algorithm. The proposed solution provides a basis for further optimization of the conversion gas
treatment process.
